Professor Susan Stepney has been awarded the 2023 Julian Francis Miller prize for her outstanding contributions to the algorithmic exploration and embodiment of evolution, development, and learning.

With this award, SPECIES recognizes Professor Susan Stepney’s work on “the development of theoretical models, frameworks and algorithms for open-ended evolution and artificial life systems, contributing to the basis for current research in emergent systems. Her work in unconventional computing has facilitated the acceptance and spread of radically new approaches to computing.”

The award will be given to Professor Susan Stepney during the upcoming EvoStar event — 12-14 April 2023 in Brno, Czechia — where she will give an invited talk.
